Mission
The Central Iowa Community Museum works in partnership with our diverse community to enhance understanding of the world, each other, and the issues we must face together. Here, people engage in inclusive and critical dialogues that are a catalyst for advocacy to increase democracy, human dignity, equity, and environmental well-being.
Vision
To create a Central Iowa where we celebrate and memorialize the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the community and inspire a society that is committed to dignity and justice for all people and the environment.
How We’re Unique
The Community Museum is about you and what you care about, where you are.
We present exhibitions about the people of Central Iowa and the issues important to them.
We don’t have our own location on purpose. Our traveling and pop-up exhibitions are displayed where people already gather, such as libraries, other museums, community events, universities and schools, and breweries.
